Job Requirements
- Ability to provide efficient and courteous guest service
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Prior food service experience preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Compliance with IHOP uniform and appearance standards
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience or training preferred but not required
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos
- Ability to write guest checks and simple correspondence
- Proficient in English for reading and communication
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
- Completion of IHOP training coursework as assigned
Job Duties
- Provide prompt and courteous service to guests
- Greet and seat guests
- Take and serve food and beverage orders accurately
- Clear dishes and reset tables
- Address and resolve guest complaints
- Communicate orders and service requests to kitchen staff
- Memorize and apply IHOP menu terminology and plating guidelines
- Maintain cash control and comply with SOP methods
- Stock and rotate supplies in service areas
- Comply with health, sanitation, and safety guidelines
- Clean tables, chairs, booths, and floors
- Perform cleaning duties according to cleaning charts
- Adhere to IHOP uniform and appearance standards
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
