The position available is for a PM Server at one of Choice Hotels' managed properties, which include prestigious brands such as Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, Park Plaza, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every lounge guest receives exceptional service characterized by attentiveness, promptness, and genuine hospitality. The hourly wage for this position is $20.74, reflecting the value placed on experienced and skilled personnel committed to delivering guest satisfaction at every interaction. As a PM Server, the individual will be responsible for setting up the lounge area, ensuring that all service items such as linen, silverware, and china are of the highest standard, taking and communicating orders accurately, and serving food and beverages efficiently. Maintaining a clean and welcoming lounge environment, addressing guest complaints empathetically, and adhering strictly to legal and company policies, including those governing alcohol service, are essential components of the role. The PM Server is also expected to collaborate seamlessly with bartenders, chefs, and fellow servers, demonstrating teamwork to exceed guest expectations consistently.

Beyond basic service duties, the role entails embodying the Choice Hotels' hospitality standards by giving personal attention, taking responsibility, and engaging in ongoing teamwork. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED required
  • two years of experience in a similar position within an upscale environment preferred
  • basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  • must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
  • excellent customer service skills required
  • willing to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • ability to relate to all levels of guests and management
  • must possess strong team spirit
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • ability to maneuver up to 150 pounds occasionally
  • able to set up and take down tables, chairs, stages and other banquet fixtures
  • ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand for extended periods constantly

Job Duties

  • ensure proper set up of tables in the lounge
  • inspect linen, silver, china and other items prior to use
  • take customer orders and provide suggestions for beverages and food
  • report beverage orders to bartenders and ensure drinks are garnished before serving
  • coordinate service with other servers and chef
  • serve food and beverages to guests and refill beverages as needed
  • remove dirty glasses, linens and dishes from lounge area
  • respond to customer requests and complaints
  • clean lounge area during and after events
  • adhere to legal and company policies and standards
  • understand and follow laws and guidelines for beverage service
  • close out customer bills applying cash and credit cards according to procedures
  • create 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations
  • give personal attention, take responsibility and use teamwork
  • listen, apologize with empathy, find solutions and follow through when resolving guest problems
  • provide ongoing genuine hospitality and teamwork
  • notice when guests are not satisfied and use judgment to ensure satisfaction
  • perform other duties as required by management to provide 100% guest satisfaction and genuine hospitality
