Job Description
Cypress Village is a distinguished senior living community located in Jacksonville, Florida, close to the beautiful Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville beaches. Spread across 120 scenic acres of wooded lakefront property, Cypress Village stands as one of Florida's best-kept secrets, offering an exceptional environment where residents enjoy a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle. Managed by Life Care Services (LCS), the nation's leading developer and manager of senior living communities, Cypress Village combines professionalism, compassion, and dedication to create a true home for seniors. LCS oversees twelve retirement communities across Florida, emphasizing quality of life, resident satisfaction, and employee development across all its locations. This commitment is evident in how Cypress Village fosters a supportive and transparent workplace culture that encourages employees to thrive and find purpose in their roles.
Joining the Cypress Village team means becoming part of a community that values strong work ethics, collaboration, and a shared commitment to positively impacting residents' lives. The leadership and staff here serve as role models, offering not only employment but an opportunity to build a long, rewarding career in senior living hospitality. The community's management supports a positive work environment where employees feel respected, motivated, and appreciated — a place where personal growth and professional development are prioritized.
The Server position at Cypress Village is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about exceptional customer service within a fine dining setting. This role requires serving alcohol, with a mandatory drug screening and level two background check prior to employment, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the community. Servers in this role do not accept tips; instead, they receive a competitive hourly wage ranging from $14.50 to $15 per hour, based on experience. This allows employees to enjoy financial stability without relying on gratuities. Additionally, this role offers the benefit of completing shifts by 8 pm, freeing employees from late-night work hours commonly found in the restaurant industry.
The fundamental responsibilities of the Server include maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the dining area. Employees are expected to uphold food quality, presentation, and appearance standards consistently. The role demands efficient, courteous service, including setting tables, taking orders with accuracy, delivering food and beverages, and answering guests' questions about menu items knowledgeably. Servers assist in clearing tables during and after meal service, washing dishes as needed, and resetting dining spaces promptly to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
This position emphasizes creating a warm, inviting dining atmosphere through proper serving etiquette and interpersonal skills that reflect the community's commitment to hospitality. Cypress Village places great importance on respecting dietary guidelines and procedures when serving each resident, underscoring the need for attention to detail and adherence to policy.
Beyond technical skills, the culture at Cypress Village is guided by core values such as greeting residents warmly by name, treating everyone with respect, anticipating needs, and responding with enthusiasm. The staff prides itself on accountability, professionalism, and making every individual feel valued. Embracing diversity and maintaining high standards of conduct and appearance are also fundamental aspects of the workplace environment.
Working at Cypress Village gives employees a front-row seat to some of the wisest people on earth — the community's senior residents — and an unparalleled opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. Whether working full-time or part-time, individuals with a positive attitude, team spirit, and experience in waiting and bussing tables or fine dining service will find fulfillment and growth potential in this role. The position offers a chance to develop excellent people skills, contribute to a caring community, and enjoy a job that respects your time, your talents, and your aspirations.
