The Server position at Century Park Associates plays a critical role in delivering high-quality restaurant-style dining services with a strong focus on hospitality. This role operates in strict adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and Century Park’s established standards. Reporting to the Dining Services Director or Dining Room Supervisor, servers are crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of the dining experience. A key component of this role includes acting as a lead server who not only performs regular serving duties but also trains and guides new servers to uphold the organization’s standards. This position offers flexibility by providing both full-time and part-time scheduling options during days and evenings, making it suitable for individuals seeking adaptable work hours.

The core responsibilities involve assisting with dining room preparations, attending pre-meal menu review meetings, serving residents with appropriate techniques, managing meal trays, and ensuring clean and safe dining environments before, during, and after meal service. Servers are also tasked with welcoming residents and visitors warmly, assisting residents in choosing their food, monitoring beverage refills, and maintaining dining room sanitation including clearing dishes, removing soiled linens, and preparing tables for the next meal. Furthermore, the role demands excellent customer service skills, a caring approach towards seniors, and the ability to resolve complaints tactfully while working efficiently with minimal supervision.

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • prior healthcare experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Trains and guides new servers according to Century Park standards
  • assists with meal counts and tickets
  • assists and ensures dining room set up with servers
  • assists with dish room tasks
  • attends pre meal menu review meeting
  • performs duties at assigned station such as beverages and salad bar
  • performs and ensures completion of assigned cleaning and prep work duties
  • greets residents and visitors in a welcoming manner
  • assists residents with food selection
  • checks for beverage refills timely
  • serves residents timely and with appropriate serving techniques
  • serves meals using trays
  • strips and resets tables as needed during serving times
  • removes dishes throughout meal service and delivers to dishwashing area
  • removes soiled linens and places in designated laundry areas
  • prepares tables for next meal
  • removes trash and keeps dining room clean, dry and free of safety hazards
  • prepares for next meal including cleaning tables, wiping out chairs, filling condiment containers, mopping, sweeping, cleaning coffee maker, juice machine, etc
