The role of an Outlet Server at Denny's Restaurant involves providing the highest quality of service to guests through attentive, courteous, and efficient interactions. The server is responsible for receiving and delivering guests' orders accurately, as well as managing payment transactions. This position demands physical stamina, as servers must stand for the entire shift and be capable of navigating the dining area while carrying trays of food and drinks. - Basic math skills for cashiering duties
Job Duties
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing proper uniform and nametag
- Comply with hospitality service standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees
- Be familiar with the organization of the restaurant outlets, lounges, and room service and understand each job position
- Have thorough knowledge of menus and current specials
- Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner
- Pre-bus tables by removing soiled dishes after each course
- Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system
- Perform cashiering functions including closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation and checklist
- Ensure all tables and side stands are stocked, tidy, and clean
- Keep all beverages at least three-fourths full
- Breakdown trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dish-room following standards
- Answer the telephone according to standards
- Consistently upsell food, beverage, and promotional items
- Be familiar with fire extinguisher locations and how to use them
- Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment
