The Server role at Four Seasons is critical in enhancing the dining experience at Seasons Restaurant, where the focus is on delivering impeccable service and expertise. In this part-time position, servers are entrusted with providing attentive and knowledgeable beverage and dining services to guests, anticipating their needs before requests are made, and expertly guiding them through menu options and wine selections. The role requires an individual who takes pride in professionalism, seamless communication, and presentation, ensuring every guest's experience is not only satisfactory but memorable. This position offers an hourly pay rate of $17.60 and includes valuable benefits such as a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, complimentary employee meals, and uniform dry cleaning.

Candidates for this role should have 1-2 years of relevant food and beverage serving experience, a good knowledge of food preparation and wines, and necessary certifications such as the San Diego County Food Handlers card and RBS certification. Their responsibilities extend beyond serving; they are also involved in managing point-of-sale transactions with the Residence Club's computer system, maintaining cleanliness and table settings, and handling any guest concerns professionally with managerial support when necessary. The working hours are flexible, covering early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the dynamic hospitality environment.

Job Requirements

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • 1-2 years food and beverage serving and/or related food and beverage experience

Job Duties

  • Anticipate and service of guests' requirements before requests are necessary
  • serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
  • be familiar with the wine list and in wine and beverage service including stemware used and appropriate garnishes
  • utilize a "Captain's Pad" correctly and for the sake of communication
  • complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard
  • present menus including children's menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day
  • offer a cheese and fruit tray explaining each of the various selections for the day
  • utilize the Residence Club's computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readings
  • carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver
  • ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
  • handle a guest walk out
  • respond properly in any Residence Club emergency or safety situation
  • perform other tasks or projects as assigned by Residence Club management and staff
