Job Requirements
- Must satisfy all state health, licensure/certification, and background requirements
- must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- food service experience preferred but not required
- must have food handler's permit and complete any additional training or certification requirements mandated by the state of employment
- must be able to receive and carry out verbal or written instruction
- must communicate effectively in person, over the phone, or via email with customers and co-workers
- must perform repetitive work according to set procedures with frequent distractions and interruptions
- must recognize a problem and identify when it should be escalated to an appropriate team member
- may require proficiency with computers to participate in training and/or other assigned tasks
- must be able to constantly stand and frequently walk for up to and exceeding one hour at a time
- frequently move items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- must be able to frequently twist and rotate head, neck, and torso and reach high or low with arms and hands
- must be able to read menus and instructions and detect audible alarms, bells, and signals related to food preparation and safety
- occasionally require the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or climb step ladders and/or stairs
- must be prepared to work in a commercial kitchen and dining room environment with moderate to high noise level
- must be prepared to wear personal protective equipment when required
- must strictly follow hygiene and infection control guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Graciously and respectfully assist residents in the dining room to be seated and make menu selections
- initiate the serving of all entrees including cold and hot beverage service, salad, soup, hot entrees, dessert service, and last beverage service
- clear tables throughout the meal
- reset all tables in the dining room after meal service ends
- assist with cleanup such as washing and putting away dishes and utensils, vacuuming or sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, and watering plants
- assist with food preparation as required
- observe when food and dining room supplies are low and report to the Dining Services Director
- strictly follow all cleaning schedules, sanitation checklists, and guidelines related to hygiene and infection control
- follow all dining services policies and procedures according to the training manual
- attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by the Executive Director
- maintain confidentiality of resident, community, employee, and company information
- maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions
- perform other duties as assigned
