The Server position at Atlas Restaurant Group is a pivotal role focusing on delivering an uncompromising and memorable dining experience throughout each guest’s visit. As a Server, the individual is expected to exemplify genuine hospitality, operate with professionalism, and maintain an organized and clean work environment. This role demands multitasking skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented setting, ensuring smooth communication and cooperation with kitchen staff and fellow restaurant employees. Servers are the primary point of contact for guests, responsible for answering menu questions, recommending food and drinks based on customer preferences, and handling transactions accurately and efficiently.

Servers must stay guest-focused, providing attentive service to sustain an excellent guest experience at all times. They are required to have a strong knowledge of food and beverages, including the ability to provide information on ingredients, preparation, and make informed suggestions about wine and craft cocktails, enhancing the overall dining experience. Maintaining cleanliness and proper stocking of working stations is essential, as well as performing routine cleaning duties to uphold sanitation standards.

This is an hourly position that includes tips, with wage rates varying by state, generally reflecting minimum standards, as follows: $3.63/hour plus tips in Maryland, $2.23/hour plus tips in Delaware, $2.83/hour plus tips in Pennsylvania, $9.98/hour plus tips in Florida, and $2.13/hour plus tips in Texas. The position allows for a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. While there are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role, it offers entry and advancement opportunities within the company, supported by learning and development programs.

  • At least 2 years of experience in restaurant industry
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Meets state minimum age (18) to serve alcohol
  • Must have a valid form of identification
  • Must have the knowledge to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must have the knowledge to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and tips
  • Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Must be able to learn and utilize Toast Point-of-Sale (POS) and Restaurant365 systems
  • Basic knowledge of English
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and follow both verbal and written company directives and initiatives
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of government policies and regulations
  • Have the ability to effectively answer questions and speak before groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public at restaurant locations
  • Must have the ability to use common sense to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
  • Must have the ability to creatively solve problems in a fast paced environment using experience and an outside-the-box mindset
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, handle, manipulate or feel objects, tools or controls, talk and hear, and taste and smell regularly
  • Must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must occasionally sit, climb stairs and/or maintain balance
  • Must possess close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • must have depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must have sufficient physical mobility or agility to respond quickly to fire or other emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in restaurant industry
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Answer questions about the menu, sell restaurant’s food and drinks, and communicate orders with the kitchen
  • Stay guest focused and sustain an excellent guest experience
  • Possess strong food and beverage knowledge
  • Keep all working stations clean, organized and properly stocked
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to guest
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
