Job Requirements

  • grade 12 education
  • two years of comparable wait service experience preferred
  • ability to read, write and execute basic math skills
  • food safety certification
  • legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • alcoholic beverage certification
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and reach
  • ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  • capability to perform repetitive motions
  • ability to work in hot, humid and noisy environment

Job Duties

  • sets up side station and performs assigned side prep work
  • provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
  • ensures children are in appropriate seats and are safe and secure
  • distributes food and wine menus and answers questions
  • fills glasses with ice water and suggests menu items
  • ensures correct account numbers and names are given for billing
  • efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner and offers suggestions on daily specials and wine selections
  • places orders with kitchen and informs cooks about special instructions
  • assembles food on tray and procures items from stations as necessary
  • serves meals and places dishes by courses in front of each person
  • checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction and replenishes water and butter
  • removes soiled dishes and clears tables after each course and resets them with appropriate silverware
  • presents dessert menus and serves dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks
  • verifies accuracy of prices, taxes, tips and other charges on checks
  • presents the bill and handles all cash and credit card charges per procedures
  • keeps dining room and bus station areas clean
  • clears, cleans and resets tables
  • advises supervisor of complaints promptly
  • performs clean-up and closing duties
  • attends pre-meal meetings as requested
  • turns in signed tip declaration form weekly
  • thanks members and guests and invites them to return
  • consistently follows laws and club policies for alcoholic beverage service
  • performs other duties assigned by managers
