The role being offered is that of a Food and Beverage Server, a critical position responsible for ensuring excellent service in the dining areas. The server acts as a vital link between the kitchen and the guests, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment. This position is typically full-time and demands attentiveness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Servers need to be knowledgeable about the menu, including food, wines, beers, liquors, and non-alcoholic beverages, in order to assist guests effectively and make recommendations when required.

Key responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, informing them about specials and promotions, accurately taking and inputting orders into the Point of Sale system, and ensuring timely delivery of all items. Servers also monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal and address any concerns promptly. Adherence to all federal and state regulations, particularly those concerning the responsible service of alcoholic beverages, is mandatory. Beyond service delivery, the role requires maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in service areas before, during, and after shifts, as well as performing pre-shift and post-shift duties efficiently.

Job Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Food Handler's Card (if required by local municipality)
  • Prefer a minimum of one year of previous serving experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
  • Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time
  • Consistent cash handling skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while continuing to smile and have a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking, delivery and clearing of any food and/or beverage items
  • Check and maintain all service areas before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
  • Greet the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
  • Knowledgeable of our food, wine, beer, liquor and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Takes the guest order and inputs the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order
  • Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests
  • Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
  • Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Perform all pre-shift and post-shift side work
