Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • must hold or have applied for employee permit to sell/serve alcohol in the state of Indiana
  • ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently and carrying food trays overhead constantly
  • ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and grasp for up to five hours without sitting
  • knowledge of food and beverage service procedures
  • knowledge of state liquor laws
  • regular attendance and punctuality
  • teamwork and initiative
  • willingness to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • at least one year of relevant experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • thorough knowledge of food and beverage service preparation and operational procedures
  • thorough knowledge of state liquor laws as applied to food and beverage service practices preferred
  • positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately

Job Duties

  • Prepares the tables, laying out the napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, while performing all other preparation tasks (coffee, tea, etc.)
  • clears tables after guests, taking tableware to dish room and placing silverware, dishes, glassware etc. in appropriate areas for washing, separating plates, silverware, glasses and linens to designated areas
  • promptly cleans table tops, chairs, and booths between seating, including the railing around the still
  • stays up to date on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen is running out or low on any items
  • gathers information on large parties, reservations, or events from the host
  • assists in directing customers to their tables, presents menus, suggests dishes, assists in drink selection, informs customers on food preparation details, and communicates specific customer needs to the cooks
  • maintains proper dining experience, delivers items, fulfills customer needs, offers desserts and drinks, removes finished courses, replenishes utensils, and refills water and soft drinks
  • uses the proper garnishes, china, glassware and flatware for all food and beverages
  • responsible for communicating guest food allergies to the kitchen as you become aware of them
  • handles and counts cash, makes accurate change, records credit cards from guests, as well as member charges, as prescribed by the food and beverage manual
  • responsible for ensuring work area(s) are stocked with items that will be needed while on shift
  • assists with special events as requested
