Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 months experience in a similar food service role
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles and standard cash handling procedures
- Fluency in English both oral and written
- Vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks and written instructions
- Manual coordination to carry trays and handle restaurant equipment
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk regularly up to 300 feet
- Good hearing and visual capabilities
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively in crowded and noisy environments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle customer service situations tactfully and professionally
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food server functions, and restaurant and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, and written instructions
- Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items and balance trays loaded with food and beverages
Job Duties
- Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serving the orders and accommodating special needs/requests
- Remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the restaurant at all times
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed
- Memorize menu items, recipes and daily specials in order to answer questions and make recommendations to customers
- Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area to satisfy state and local health board requirements
- Control allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed
- Receive proper payment from guests and ensure accuracy of guest check and method of payment
- Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person to enhance communication and knowledge of products, service and facility
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information
- Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
