The position available at Fremont Senior Living is for a part-time Server, a role crucial in ensuring a positive dining experience for the community's senior residents. This position operates primarily on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The hourly wage starts at $15, commensurate with experience and commitment. The Server will act as a warm and engaging host, greeting residents with enthusiasm, ensuring their comfort during meals, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Beyond simply serving food, the Server is expected to embody the spirit of hospitality by being attentive to the residents’ needs, communicating effectively with supervisors and wellness staff especially regarding residents’ dietary habits or changes in appetite, and assisting with any necessary support during meal times. The Server will engage in preparation tasks such as setting tables, rolling silverware, and preparing salads to ensure smooth meal services. Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the dining environment is also a key responsibility, as it contributes significantly to the comfort and dignity of the residents. This multifaceted role requires energy, a positive attitude, and the physical ability to perform duties that involve standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen years of age
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Positive and energetic attitude
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop during shifts
  • Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and post-fall support
  • Must pass criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or senior care is advantageous
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English at an eighth-grade level or higher
  • Positive and energetic attitude with a passion for working with seniors
  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing and lifting
  • Criminal background clearance as per organizational policies

Job Duties

  • Greet residents and make them feel welcome in the dining area
  • Prepare tables, salads, and silverware for meal services
  • Buss tables and maintain cleanliness in the dining room
  • Communicate with supervisors and wellness staff regarding residents’ dietary habits and attendance
  • Assist residents with sitting, standing, walking, and provide support after falls
  • Foster a friendly and engaging dining atmosphere for residents
  • Uphold safety and hygiene standards during meal preparation and service
