With a rich history of contributing to monumental achievements such as the first transatlantic flight, the development of stealth bombers, and landing on the moon, Northrop Grumman continues to lead in engineering excellence. The company fosters a culture of intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and a welcoming environment that encourages employees to bring their whole selves to work. Northrop Grumman's commitment to pushing technological boundaries spans land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace, making it a beacon for professionals seeking to make an impact on national security and global challenges.
Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Feature Architecture Lead Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) to join their team in Roy, UT, Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL. This role supports the Sentinel Program, which is instrumental in sustaining, developing, producing, and deploying hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. The employment is full-time and offers a competitive salary range between $166,500 and $276,100 annually, with potential overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses.
As the Feature Architecture Lead Sr. Staff Systems Engineer, the selected candidate will spearhead the full system and incremental feature architecture and definition to ensure successful execution by development and integration and test teams. The role includes performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk evaluation, and supportability analyses across all product lifecycle phases, from concept and design to installation and operation. The engineer will translate customer or product requirements into hardware and software specifications while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
The role demands a candidate skilled in presenting complex technical solutions to senior leadership and acting as a spokesperson for major initiatives within the organization. This individual will maintain active interaction with external customers, capturing technical needs and fostering the development of system feature concepts. Strong expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and leading cross-functional teams is essential.
Northrop Grumman offers a full range of employee benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k plan, educational assistance, life insurance, employee assistance programs, paid time off, wellness resources, and employee discounts. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, promoting work-life balance by providing every other Friday off after working nine-hour days Monday through Thursday. Additionally, the company may provide relocation assistance to qualified candidates. This role requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance or higher, including Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).
