Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Model Based Design and Analysis Configuration Section Manager 2 to join their team located in Roy, Utah, or Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary range between $115,000 and $181,600, with the potential for additional overtime, shift differentials, and bonuses. The role may include relocation assistance and requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, along with the ability to obtain Special Access Program approval.

The Model Based Design and Analysis Configuration Section Manager 2 will be responsible for managing a motivated team of senior design engineers within a matrixed functional organization while ensuring effective integration and collaboration across various design teams. The position focuses on managing the Sentinel EMD Weapon System Product Baseline configuration through collaboration with design, manufacturing, test, and systems engineering functions within a dynamic program environment. This includes developing and implementing weapon system product effectivity schemes using Siemens Teamcenter and other tools across multiple business units and classified networks.

The candidate will provide critical technical support related to engineering product baseline processes, supplier coordination, risk management, mentoring, trade studies, process improvement, workload balancing, and project management. They will also align priorities with the design process and governance teams to support overall program execution and lead special projects assigned by senior leadership. This role requires someone capable of building and managing high-performing teams with strong technical, administrative, and management expertise.

The Section Manager will serve as a key leader in the design engineering homeroom by providing performance feedback, training, coaching, and career development to employees. They will ensure workforce planning addresses skill set needs, maintain strong communication and collaboration with senior management and peers, and support process and tool development to meet program objectives. Additional responsibilities include participating in proposal work, technical reviews, audits, and supporting employee engagement and retention efforts.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in STEM disciplines with at least 8 years of related experience or a master’s degree with 6 years of experience. Experience with ASME, SAE, EIA standards, mechanical and design engineering principles, 3D modeling tools such as NX, and Product Lifecycle Management tools like Teamcenter is essential. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in product baseline management and data product delivery for large weapon or vehicle systems. Strong interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills are critical for success in this position.

Preferred qualifications include experience in missile design and deployment programs, Agile methodologies and JIRA knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and manage junior engineers effectively.
