Job Description
Urban Villages Inc. (UV) is a mission-driven real estate development and management company dedicated to creating sustainable and impactful properties that harmonize planetary stewardship with profitable outcomes. UV operates as an innovator and problem solver in the industry, delivering transformative mixed-use real estate assets valued at over $3 billion across multiple markets. Their portfolio includes landmark projects like Denver's historic Larimer Square revitalization, the first carbon-positive hotels in the U.S. at Populus Denver and Populus Seattle, and one of the country's largest adaptive re-use LEED Platinum developments with RailSpur Seattle. With a commitment to environmental transformation, social responsibility, and financial sustainability, Urban Villages is recognized for projects that set new standards in the real estate and hospitality sectors.
Populus Hotels, a hospitality brand under Urban Villages, represents a new generation of conscious hospitality rooted in a deep respect for nature. This brand embodies thoughtful, intentional choices that elevate guest experiences while aligning with sustainable principles.
In line with this vision, Urban Villages is seeking a Senior Vice President of Hospitality to act as the internal champion and brand leader for Populus Hotels. This role is a blend of hands-on corporate leadership and strategic management, requiring an entrepreneurial spirit to build Populus's intellectual property and to codify brand standards that facilitate scalable growth. The Senior Vice President of Hospitality will drive portfolio performance by partnering with third-party operators and asset managers to ensure strict adherence to brand standards operationally and financially. The position has operational and strategic oversight responsibilities for both Populus Denver and Populus Seattle locations and the important task of developing Urban Villages' corporate playbook for future hospitality properties.
Success in this role demands an individual who thrives in a start-up environment, possessing the bravery and entrepreneurial mindset to establish structures, systems, and processes that promote clarity, efficiency, and operational excellence. As a "hotelier's hotelier," this leader will meticulously live and breathe the details of luxury guest experiences and translate this magic into scalable, trainable standards. The role demands a high level of rigor in partner management, using financial and operational data, as well as guest feedback, to hold operational partners accountable and challenge assumptions to ensure brand promises are consistently delivered. Moreover, the Senior Vice President will champion Populus's carbon-positive mission, embedding environmental stewardship into all operational practices and fostering a culture rooted in the brand's values.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $225,000 to $275,000 plus bonus opportunities and includes comprehensive full-time employee benefits. Candidates with a genuine passion for sustainability and significant experience in best-in-class hospitality leadership are encouraged to apply.
