Job Description

The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce is a pivotal organization dedicated to fostering economic growth, advocacy, and community connections within Albuquerque and the broader New Mexico region. As a leading membership organization, the Chamber serves as a vital resource and voice for local businesses, government entities, and community leaders. Established with a commitment to creating an environment where businesses can prosper, the Chamber offers advocacy, networking, education, and economic development programs that support and strengthen the local economy. Its role in connecting private sector businesses with public officials and policymakers ensures that the interests of the business community are well represented and that initiatives that promote sustainable growth are championed.

Within this vibrant and influential organization, the Senior Vice President of Events and Program Management plays a crucial role. This full-time position, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events, is responsible for the meticulous planning and flawless execution of 15 to 17 signature events annually. These events include six Connection Events, eight Membership Meetings, and one Virtual Meeting, which serve as key touchpoints for engaging members, sponsors, and community stakeholders. The role also encompasses managing three flagship programs: the Roadrunner Program, a goodwill ambassador trip for Albuquerque business leaders to cities across New Mexico; the Congressional Delegation Leadership Trip to Washington, D.C.; and Intercity Visits designed to foster educational experiences for Chamber volunteers.

A significant aspect of this role rests in the ability to blend operational excellence with strategic program management. The Senior Vice President oversees every detail from drafting meeting scripts to negotiating hotel contracts and coordinating seating arrangements, ensuring each event runs smoothly and meets budget targets. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are paramount. Beyond logistics, this role represents the Chamber’s commitment to delivering value through member engagement, providing impactful experiences, and reinforcing the Chamber’s leadership in local economic and advocacy efforts.

Collaboration is key, as this position works closely with executive leadership, including the President & CEO, Executive Vice President of Government Affairs, and volunteer leadership. Aligning speaker selections, program directions, and event strategies ensures that events not only run seamlessly but also advance the Chamber’s mission and foster meaningful connections within the business community. The role also requires flexibility, with the expectation of working primarily in person with two days a week remote, and willingness to travel for select flagship program events.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance and scope of the position. The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce seeks an experienced event professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, is proactive in problem-solving, and excels at creating memorable and effective event experiences. If you are passionate about community engagement, skilled in event production, and eager to contribute to an organization that shapes regional economic development, this role offers both challenge and fulfillment.
