Leidos is a prominent industry and technology leader dedicated to serving government and commercial customers through smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Leidos employs approximately 47,000 professionals worldwide and reported annual revenues of around $16.7 billion for the fiscal year ended January 3, 2025. The company is well-regarded for its commitment to advancing national security and technological excellence, making it a trusted partner in sectors such as defense, intelligence, health, and civil government. Working at Leidos means joining a dynamic environment focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering impactful solutions that support critical missions.
This particular opportunity is for a Senior Training Coordinator/Instructional Designer role supporting the Chinook program, an Agile software development initiative within the Intelligence Community. The position is highly visible and mission-driven, tasked with shaping how critical technology is adopted across intelligence agencies. It offers a chance to work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, scrum teams, and various customer stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs and materials. These training solutions empower mission users with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently adopt new technology capabilities, ensuring successful software deployments and advancing mission success.
The Senior Training Coordinator will transform complex technical capabilities into engaging, user-focused learning experiences. Responsibilities include leading training program design and development, managing end-to-end training processes, and delivering both instructor-led and e-learning content. The role requires strong familiarity with geospatial intelligence tools and systems such as ArcGIS and Google Earth, and the ability to apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices. The position also involves coordinating training logistics, assessing training effectiveness, and continuously improving training initiatives based on user feedback and performance metrics.
Candidates for this role must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility, U.S. citizenship, and a strong background in instructional design within technical or geospatial environments. The salary range for this position is $82,550 to $149,225 annually, reflecting factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, and market alignment. The primary work location is Gaithersburg, MD, but other locations including Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA; Englewood, CO; St. Louis, MO; and Tucson, AZ are possible.
Leidos provides a comprehensive benefits package including competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement plans. The firm’s culture emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and a relentless drive to innovate and exceed expectations. If you are passionate about instructional design, adult learning, and making a measurable impact through training that supports national security, this Senior Training Coordinator position offers a compelling career path. Joining Leidos means you will be part of a mission-focused organization that rewards forward-thinkers who disrupt norms, embrace agile working methodologies, and champion continuous learning and improvement in support of critical government programs.
