The Senior Systems Engineer position within the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) program is a critical role supporting Air Combat Command’s intelligence and surveillance missions. This full-time, onsite position based at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, plays a key role in sustaining and modernizing Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) systems which are essential for national defense. The position offers a competitive salary range of $110,500 to $149,500, depending on experience, and provides access to a comprehensive benefits package.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and integrating system requirements, supporting the architecture and sustainment of SIGINT capabilities within the AF DCGS, and ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives. You will coordinate with National Mission Partners and other Air Force organizations to define technical solutions that enhance ISR data integration into Command and Control systems, supporting critical decision-making processes. Your expertise will guide the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions for the AF DCGS SIGINT mission, advocating for system lifecycle approaches that meet organizational goals.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical, engineering, IT, or cybersecurity field
- 8+ years of related experience
- active TS/SCI clearance required
- must be onsite full time at Langley AFB, VA
- travel is anticipated to be less than 25%
- U.S. citizenship required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical, engineering, IT, or cybersecurity field
- 8+ years of experience as systems engineer with National Mission Partner, AF DCGS background
- familiarity with DCGS mission, DoD Architecture Framework/relationships to Agile Development approaches and Cyber Security Operations and Processes
- high level understanding of the National Mission Partner and Air Force SIGINT systems and architecture
- high level understanding of the Air Force C4ISR enterprise systems such as AF DCGS, Air Operations Center, and the Targeting Enterprise
- high level understanding of system of systems SIGINT Enterprise architecture, data flows, site capabilities
- understanding of USAF Acquisition processes such as AF Form1067 modification request efforts
Job Duties
- Advise client on AF DCGS SIGINT technical and system life-cycle approaches that deliver on organizational objectives
- responsible for defining and supporting the design, development, and implementation of short- and long-term solutions for SIGINT requirements, systems, and technology needs through the use of new, modified, and/or existing applications
- coordinate and advocate for weapon system requirements with respect to SIGINT systems, integration, and architectures, working with National Mission Partners and/or other Air Force organizations partnering with NMP
- serve as organizational focal point for new SIGINT technology efforts to include Situational Awareness applications, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure operational alignment
- engage proactively in specific Sensing/Sensemaking Working Groups discussions, providing subject matter expertise and driving actionable outcomes for the mission
- oversee the development and review of AF Form 1067s Modification Requests for SIGINT and related initiatives, ensuring all requirements are rigorously focused, accurately scoped, and comprehensively justified
- reviews and updates SIGINT system requirements for the AF DCGS weapon system and associated programs working with mission partners
- create and maintain effective working relationships with staff at stakeholder, mission partner, and higher headquarters organizations
- work closely with AF DCGS Program Management Office SIGINT programs area to ensure technical capabilities are fully synchronized and integrated with operational mission efforts
- work with stakeholders and end users to develop requirements for SIGINT system modernization efforts and manage programs through the requirements validation, solution development, and delivery phase
- assesses the compatibility and integration of SIGINT products/services proposed to ensure an integrated architectures across interdependent technologies and system of systems
