Job Description

GDIT, or General Dynamics Information Technology, is a prominent global technology and professional services company that provides cutting-edge technology solutions and mission services to a broad spectrum of U.S. federal civilian agencies, defense entities, and the intelligence community. Established as a reliable and innovative force in the technology sector, GDIT is dedicated to empowering government operations and ensuring the safety and efficiency of U.S. citizens through its advanced service offerings. With a workforce of approximately 26,000 experts spread across more than 50 countries, GDIT leverages state-of-the-art technologies including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development to deliver mission-ready capabilities that meet the intricate demands of government agencies worldwide.

The company prides itself on fostering an environment of autonomy and growth, where employees are encouraged to seize opportunities and bring their best performance every day. GDIT’s commitment to innovation and excellence is reflected in its motto: "We think. We act. We deliver." This underlying philosophy drives the organization to transform challenges into opportunities, making it a compelling workplace for professionals keen on impactful careers.

The role of Senior Strength and Conditioning Specialist at GDIT is a critical position designed to support federal agencies, particularly those engaged with Special Operations Forces (SOF). This role focuses on the development, delivery, and management of evidence-based strength and conditioning programs aimed at optimizing the physical performance and well-being of military personnel. The Senior Strength and Conditioning Specialist acts as the lead physical performance expert, responsible for supervising programs, providing expert instruction, and ensuring the highest standards in program quality and administrative functions.

Beyond technical expertise, the Senior Specialist serves as the primary representative for strength and conditioning within their unit or component, collaborating extensively with physical domain managers and medical professionals to create a holistic approach to performance enhancement. This includes coordinating return-to-duty processes, injury mitigation, and integrating cognitive performance and nutrition strategies into training regimens. The position demands a hands-on, proactive leader capable of customizing training programs rapidly and effectively, ensuring that all protocols are practical and scientifically valid.

Candidates for this role will bring a strong educational background in exercise science or related fields, along with significant experience coaching elite athletes, including NCAA Division I athletes, Olympic-level competitors, professional sports players, or special operations personnel. Certification from nationally recognized bodies like the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) is mandatory. Additionally, physical proficiency is essential, as the role involves demonstrating exercises, training in challenging environments, and supporting high-stakes military training evolutions.

The Senior Strength and Conditioning Specialist position is anticipated to commence in 2027 and offers a salary range between $72,877 and $98,599. This role requires U.S. citizenship and either current or the ability to obtain Secret or Top-Secret Clearance. The position provides the opportunity to work in diverse locations within the continental United States and overseas, allowing candidates to engage directly with government and military customers in impactful and meaningful ways.

GDIT offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401K plan with company match, extensive health and wellness programs, opportunities for professional growth including paid education and certifications, and paid time off for vacation and holidays. This package underscores GDIT’s commitment to employee well-being and career development.

Joining GDIT as a Senior Strength and Conditioning Specialist means becoming part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team that values innovation, dedication, and expert service delivery. The candidate will not only be contributing to critical defense missions but will also have access to cutting-edge technology and resources that support continuous learning and professional achievement within a supportive company culture.
