OC Sports & Entertainment is currently seeking a Senior Special Events Sales Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of live event and sports entertainment in Orange County. This is a full-time, on-site position with a competitive annual base salary range of $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with the candidate's experience, skills, and other job-related factors. The Senior Special Events Sales Manager will be tasked with leading strategic sales efforts for high-value special events across all OCVIBE properties. The role requires a proactive and strategic sales leader capable of managing and expanding a robust portfolio of major clients while mentoring junior sales staff and contributing to the refinement of sales processes and standards.

In this role, the manager will develop innovative event concepts that are not only financially viable but also exemplify outstanding client service and seamless execution through close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position demands a deep understanding of the local entertainment and hospitality markets, excellent negotiation skills, and a talent for forming lasting client relationships. Candidates must be adept at balancing revenue generation with comprehensive event coordination, ensuring every event aligns with OCVIBE's mission to foster welcoming spaces and unforgettable shared experiences.

The Senior Special Events Sales Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Sales to forecast revenue, manage sales pipelines, and strategize long-term growth. This leadership role also involves shaping pricing strategies, contract negotiations, risk assessments, and guiding the department in maintaining and improving sales effectiveness through mentorship and leadership development. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in advanced sales and event management software such as Momentus Elite and Prismm, ensuring accurate reporting and informed decision-making.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in special events or related hospitality or entertainment sales
  • proven network in corporate and/or convention sales
  • strong track record of closing high-value deals
  • leadership and mentoring experience
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software
  • ability to work on-site

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in special events hospitality or entertainment sales
  • brings an established robust network of corporate and/or convention clients with proven ability to leverage existing relationships to drive immediate business
  • proven success closing high-value complex event deals
  • strong leadership mentoring and negotiation skills
  • strategic thinking and business development expertise
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management systems

Job Duties

  • Proactively pitch negotiate and book high-revenue private and public special events across OCVIBE properties
  • consistently meet or exceed individual and departmental sales goals
  • lead negotiations on advanced contractual terms financial structures and revenue guarantees
  • identify and cultivate long-term high-value client relationships
  • develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to drive new revenue streams
  • provide senior-level mentorship and leadership to Special Events Sales Managers and Coordinators setting standards coaching talent and elevating overall sales effectiveness
  • support the Director with forecasting pipeline management and strategic planning
  • assist in establishing sales standards and best practices
  • guide deal structure pricing strategies and risk assessment
  • contribute to departmental training and onboarding efforts
  • continuously build expand and strategically evolve targeted client lists within assigned market segments to drive sustained pipeline growth
  • proactively solicit new business through calls meetings tours and presentations
  • establish and manage preferred client programs and strategic partnerships
  • represent OCVIBE at industry events and networking functions
  • draft review and manage event contracts
  • validate space availability and manage event calendars
  • communicate event details to all internal departments
  • collaborate cross-functionally to maximize financial outcomes
  • maintain accurate account tracking and reporting
  • demonstrate advanced proficiency in Momentus Elite Prismm and related systems
  • monitor industry trends and recommend strategic adjustments
