The Senior Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager leads a talented culinary team responsible for preparing menu items from scratch and upholding P.F. Chang’s high standards for food quality and presentation. The leader must be hands-on, involved in food prep and line cooking as needed to ensure timely execution during service. Job Requirements
- 3+ years of prior culinary or restaurant leadership experience
- Experience working in a hands-on, fast paced, high volume environment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license to perform occasional duties such as providing shift coverage, meeting liquor license requirements, delivering catering orders, making supply runs, local marketing, attending training and meetings, and supporting multiple locations
- Experience mentoring and training hourly Team Members
- Exposure to managing inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials
- Must be able to stand and walk for eight to ten hours each shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment including wok, mixer, slicer, and buffalo chopper
- Must be able to use knives properly and maintain their integrity
- Must be able to work in warm to very warm kitchen temperatures
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of prior culinary or restaurant leadership experience
- Experience working in a hands-on, fast paced, high volume environment
- Experience mentoring and training hourly Team Members
- Exposure to managing inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to stand and walk for periods of eight to ten hours per shift
- Ability to reach, bend, balance and transport objects up to 30 lbs, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment including a wok, mixer, slicer, and buffalo chopper
- Ability to use knives properly and maintain their integrity
- Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions in the kitchen
- Restaurant leadership experience in casual or upscale dining preferred
- Experience working in a restaurant chain or franchise with established processes and systems preferred
Job Duties
- Lead a high volume, scratch kitchen culinary team with food prep and execution of menu items, procedures, and recipes, providing clear direction throughout the shift
