This role invites culinary professionals to join Levy as a Sous Chef I, a critical position focused on supporting the overall success of the food program and overseeing culinary operations. The Sous Chef I works closely with kitchen teams to manage food preparation, menu development, inventory control, and ordering processes, ensuring that all food meets Levy’s high standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. This role requires adherence to client culture and guidelines, governmental health regulations, and company policies. Beyond technical expertise, the position also demands strong leadership skills to motivate, train, and develop back-of-house associates. The goal is to create an efficient, productive, and positive kitchen environment that consistently meets or exceeds customer and management expectations. Job Requirements

  • 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
  • Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Ability to set up and distribute production sheets
  • Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred
