The Senior Sous Chef at the Grove of Anaheim plays a crucial role in maintaining the venue’s culinary excellence during large-scale events and banquets. This position is responsible for overseeing the on-site culinary staff, supporting menu development, and ensuring that all food production meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. The Senior Sous Chef coordinates closely with Food & Beverage leaders and event planning teams to customize menus tailored for a diverse range of clients and event types, such as weddings, corporate gatherings, and various celebrations. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in high-volume catering operations and possess strong leadership skills to mentor the culinary team and foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Offering an annual base salary ranging from $73,000 to $92,000, depending on various job-related factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location, this position is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of banquet-style plating, buffet presentation, food cost management, labor budgeting, and food safety regulations. The Senior Sous Chef manages food production from setup through breakdown during events, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to established recipes and portion controls. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional culinary experience, especially in large banquet and catering functions
  • Proven experience managing culinary operations for high-volume events
  • Strong knowledge of food cost management and labor budgeting
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with a diverse culinary team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
