Among its prestigious portfolio of brands, The Ritz-Carlton stands out as an epitome of luxury service, offering guests an unforgettable stay through impeccable service standards and a dedication to quality. With over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton attracts top hospitality professionals, empowering them to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate in their roles. This environment allows employees to thrive personally and professionally while upholding the brand's revered "Gold Standards." These standards, including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, serve as the foundation for providing gracious and thoughtful service daily.
The role of Kitchen Manager at The Ritz-Carlton is crucial to the success of its culinary operations and overall guest satisfaction. This position is responsible for the daily management and oversight of all kitchen activities, ensuring that food preparation meets the highest standards of quality, taste, presentation, and sanitation. The Kitchen Manager personally demonstrates culinary skills while leading a team of culinary professionals, managing staff schedules, overseeing food handling protocols, and maintaining operating budgets. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to employee development, fostering teamwork, open communication, and a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in upholding the brand's reputation for luxury service by delivering exceptional culinary experiences that exceed customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include supervising all kitchen areas to ensure consistency and quality, maintaining compliance with food safety and sanitation certifications, and assisting the Executive Chef with kitchen operations. The Kitchen Manager also plays a vital role in developing new culinary applications and decorative food displays, ensuring that every dish served aligns with the Ritz-Carlton's commitments. Beyond culinary oversight, the role demands active involvement in human resource activities such as coaching and mentoring staff, managing payroll, scheduling according to business needs, and participating in employee performance evaluations and corrective action plans. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to encourage trust, respect, and cooperation among team members, along with a willingness to lead by example through hands-on food preparation and shift management.
This opportunity does not only focus on operational excellence but also on creating memorable guest experiences. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for maintaining exceptional customer service standards, coaching the team to meet guest needs, and continuously seeking ways to enhance service quality. By fostering a culture grounded in the Ritz-Carlton's principles, this role contributes significantly to the financial success of the property through effective budget management and goal achievement.
Marriott International is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity and providing access to opportunities regardless of protected statuses. As part of this team, you will align with an organization committed to non-discrimination, employee growth, and a respectful workplace. Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a global community where your contributions are valued, your professional skills grow, and you have the chance to be proud of your work and colleagues. This is more than a job – it is an opportunity to belong to a team that sets the standard for luxury hospitality worldwide and to become the best version of yourself as part of Marriott International’s exceptional legacy.
