Job Description

Bon Appetit Management Company is a dynamic and innovative restaurant company that operates in the contract food service industry. Known for its commitment to great food and outstanding service, Bon Appetit differentiates itself by empowering its chefs and managers to be creative and stay updated on current culinary trends. Unlike traditional corporate food companies that rely on standard recipes or central commissaries, Bon Appetit fosters an environment where culinary professionals can experiment and bring cutting-edge food concepts to their cafes. This unique approach reflects the company’s dedication to high-quality, fresh, and custom-prepared food that meets the evolving tastes of its customers. As a member of Compass Group USA, Bon Appetit benefits from the resources and expansive network of one of the largest foodservice companies in the world, offering employees career growth and development opportunities in a supportive, inclusive work culture. The company embraces diversity and ensures fair treatment of all employees without regard to race, national origin, gender, age, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.

The Senior Sous Chef role at Bon Appetit is a pivotal position responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in leading and managing daily culinary operations. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year, recognizing the expertise and responsibilities required. The Senior Sous Chef will assist with menu planning, supervise food preparation and presentation, and maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety. This position is ideal for someone with progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, preferably in high-volume operations, who is well-versed in current food trends and proficient with computer systems related to financial control, inventory management, and guest-facing ordering platforms. The Senior Sous Chef will also play a vital role in cost control measures and inventory practices, ensuring that the culinary operations run efficiently and profitably. Additionally, the position involves coordinating catering and special events, providing a dynamic work environment with varied daily activities.

Bon Appetit prioritizes employee growth and learning, encouraging its culinary teams to try new techniques, innovate menu offerings, and develop their skills. The company is deeply invested in its workforce, offering comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Bon Appetit’s supportive culture and emphasis on culinary excellence make this an exciting opportunity for culinarians who want to be part of a company where creativity and quality matter. Whether you are looking to advance your culinary career or bring your passion for food to a respected industry leader, the Senior Sous Chef role at Bon Appetit provides the ideal platform for professional achievement and personal satisfaction.
