At Leidos, innovation is a core value, and employees are empowered to challenge the status quo and drive impactful solutions that make a difference.
Leidos is currently seeking a TS/SCI cleared Senior Software Engineer to join their mission-driven team. This role is instrumental in supporting client efforts focused on designing and implementing advanced data-centric architectures that leverage the power of cloud-based computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cross-domain transfer systems. The position offers a flexible work setting, including remote work or on-site presence in Bethesda, MD, emphasizing a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and professional development. With a salary range from $107,900 to $195,050, this role delivers competitive compensation reflective of the importance and impact of the work.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Leidos, you will play a pivotal role in a DevSecOps environment, helping to maintain and ensure the availability of biometric systems and data access for end users. The role involves leading integration, maintenance, and continuous monitoring of software systems to guarantee uninterrupted technical resources. You will be designing, implementing, and enhancing complex software systems that include processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and business management information systems. Collaboration is key in this role, requiring you to work alongside Systems Engineers, Architects, Software Engineers, and Operations teams to develop enterprise Automated Facial Extraction and Matching (AFEM) capabilities.
Your responsibilities will extend to participating in test, staging, and production deployments, ensuring systems perform reliably and efficiently. Proficiency in C# programming and API development is essential, along with experience in ETL processes, SQL Server, microservices, and logging systems. Your hands-on expertise with DevOps tools such as GitLab or Jenkins will aid continuous integration and deployment practices that are critical to sustaining development velocity and quality. Leidos places high value on fostering teamwork and collaboration to deliver outstanding solutions to customers, reflecting its mission to outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo.
This Senior Software Engineer position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph, indicating the sensitive nature of the defense projects you will support. Candidates should bring at least 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 6 years with a Master’s degree, with additional years substitutable for a degree. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with biometric systems and SDKs, containerization technologies like Docker, AWS cloud architecture, GPU processing frameworks such as CUDA and PyTorch, and knowledge of languages and platforms like GraphQL, Python, Bash, Apache NiFi, and Kafka. Certifications such as Security+ or Certified Engineer (CE) and Linux server management skills are also valuable.
Joining Leidos means becoming part of a company that not only values training, career growth, and teamwork but also offers comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, paid leave, retirement plans, and income protection. This job is a unique opportunity for a motivated software engineer to join a company that demands innovation and excellence, working on mission-critical solutions that truly matter.
