Job Description

Vanderlande is a globally renowned leader in logistics process automation, specializing in the design and production of automated material handling systems for airports, warehouses, and parcel operations. With over 60 years of industry experience, Vanderlande stands at the forefront of innovation, delivering cutting-edge solutions that facilitate the efficient and reliable movement of millions of products and pieces of luggage daily. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and System Integrator, Vanderlande manages every aspect of their product offerings, from design engineering and installation management to ongoing maintenance services. The company’s North American headquarters, located in Marietta, Georgia, oversees projects distributed across the US, Canada, and Mexico, emphasizing a customer-centric approach driven by technology, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The role of Senior Site Manager at Vanderlande is a critical leadership position tasked with managing the daily safety operations of both self-performing and subcontracted installation teams engaged in the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of project-related systems. This full-time, exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $150,000, along with eligibility for an annual performance bonus program. The Senior Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety compliance and program implementation on job sites, ensuring that all activities meet stringent Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, company policies, and project specifications.

A key aspect of this position is the direct involvement in project development and pre-construction planning, including tasks such as scheduling, estimating, safety oversight, and staffing considerations. The role demands proactive management of start-up and commissioning plans, coupled with auditing processes to uphold the highest safety standards. Promoting a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE/EHS) culture adhering to a 'Beyond Zero' philosophy is essential, ensuring workplace safety not only complies with regulatory requirements but also fosters a collaborative environment between trades, client representatives, and design teams.

The Senior Site Manager is charged with supervising safety across diverse scopes of work including mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural activities during all project phases—mobilization through execution to demobilization. Maintaining thorough communication and coordination with factory engineers and operations managers is critical to safely executing construction within live facilities without disrupting production workflows. The position also involves extensive project reporting and site administration duties, such as daily log documentation, managing the HSE Velocity safety platform, conducting frequent safety audits and inspections, tracking training compliance, and leading thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and drive corrective action.

Additional responsibilities include managing environmental protocols, optimizing return-to-work processes for injured workers, and fostering effective relationships with site personnel and management to maintain a positive and safety-conscious work environment. The Senior Site Manager also oversees preventive and corrective maintenance for facility upkeep and reviews safety plans from subcontractors to ensure compliance and readiness. This comprehensive leadership role demands an individual with exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to drive a successful project delivery while balancing safety, quality, financial, and risk management objectives.

Travel requirements for this role include up to 10% domestic and international travel, supporting project needs and collaboration across geographic locations. Vanderlande values diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities without regard to race, religion, gender, or disability, and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals to perform essential job functions. This position represents an excellent career opportunity for experienced construction professionals seeking to contribute to a forward-thinking global company dedicated to safety excellence and operational leadership.
