Job Description

Sanofi is a global biopharmaceutical company driven by research and development, harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to innovate medicines and vaccines that improve the lives of millions worldwide. With a strong commitment to science and innovation, Sanofi focuses on the immune system and delivers impactful healthcare solutions that address critical medical needs. The company is recognized for its dedication to quality, sustainability, and fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce committed to advancing healthcare. Operating in various regions including North America, Sanofi integrates global expertise with local insights to ensure safe and effective healthcare product delivery.

The role of Senior Security Manager Meeting & Events is a vital position within Sanofi's Corporate Functions team based in Cambridge, MA. This role is specifically tasked with managing and ensuring the security of all offsite Sanofi meetings and events across North America, including the United States and Canada. These meetings are critical moments for Sanofi to communicate strategic developments, product launches, research initiatives, and business expansion efforts. The security oversight required for these events is comprehensive, covering venues such as hotels and conference centers, which are distributed across North America. The Senior Security Manager will serve as the primary security representative responsible for the seamless planning, execution, and evaluation of security protocols related to these high-profile events.

This role demands a professional with significant experience and a balanced demeanor combining confidence, authority, professionalism, and approachability. The Senior Security Manager must provide courteous and service-oriented interaction while maintaining assertiveness in enforcing security protocols. Communication skills are essential, especially the ability to convey security guidance clearly and effectively in sensitive or high-pressure circumstances. Typical interactions include engagements with senior executives, large attendee groups, external vendors, and venue personnel. The position requires exemplary professionalism as the individual will be the face of Sanofi Security at all assigned events.

Key responsibilities involve conducting threat assessments via approved web platforms, organizing physical security sweeps before and after meetings to protect attendees and sensitive equipment, and managing access control to restricted areas. The role extends to coordinating security plans on-site with various stakeholders, including the Meeting Management Team, venue security, law enforcement, event agencies, and local security providers. The manager also handles incident investigations, ensures all required documentation is maintained accurately, and supervises contract security personnel assigned to these events. Furthermore, the Senior Security Manager provides dedicated security support to Executive Committee members and Highly Exposed Personnel (HEP), collaborating closely with the Executive Services Team to safeguard transportation, accommodation, and emergency protocols.

This position requires significant travel—up to 75 percent of the time—across North America, including short-notice trips to support urgent event needs, especially in Canada. The role requires physical stamina to stand, walk extensively, and respond swiftly in emergencies during events. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree (advanced degrees preferred), possesses a U.S. passport with unrestricted travel eligibility to Canada, and has over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in private or government sectors focusing on meetings and event security, executive protection, or related security management roles.

In addition to strong investigative skills and experience in program development at a leadership level, this role demands excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities. The Senior Security Manager must build rapport with diverse groups, exercise sound judgment, and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Proficiency in tools such as Word and PowerPoint is expected, alongside the ability to operate discreetly and effectively in high-stakes environments.

Sanofi offers a rewarding and supportive work culture emphasizing career growth, diversity, wellbeing, and impact. Employees benefit from comprehensive health care packages, wellness programs, generous parental leave, and opportunities for internal mobility and development. This position offers a competitive salary range from $105,000 to $151,666.66 and provides the chance to contribute meaningfully to a leading biopharmaceutical company dedicated to improving lives globally.
