Within Aimbridge Hospitality, the Senior Sales Manager - Resort Division plays an integral role in the organization’s success. This position is responsible for achieving assigned goals tied to the overall performance of all resort accounts within specific market segments. The Senior Sales Manager actively manages a portfolio of resort accounts, working to prospect and close new business opportunities that positively impact resort revenues. Collaborating closely with the Managing Director and other resort leadership, this role is key in driving hotel revenue growth, expanding market share, and maintaining strong client relationships. The focus of sales efforts may vary by specific resort property assignment, encompassing diverse segments such as Leisure, SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal), Business Travel, and Groups.

This senior management position demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of hotel operations and a proficiency in industry-specific tools such as Delphi and contract negotiation. The role requires strong communication skills to effectively negotiate, influence, and maintain relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, and hotel guests. The Senior Sales Manager is expected to lead by example, regularly conducting solicitation calls, hosting tours, and representing the property proactively within the local community and industry organizations. Additionally, training and mentoring other sales team members to meet their goals forms a core part of the responsibilities.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in hotel sales
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations
  • Industry and meeting planner contacts
  • Well versed in Delphi
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of tours, transportation, and multiple themes for a destination resort
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, closing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills

Job Duties

  • Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call goals, while also training and mentoring others to do the same
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT) and/or Groups, as applicable by property
  • Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT), and/or Groups, as applicable by property
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality’s established regulations, company standards, sales standards and sales metrics related
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations, as applicable
  • May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes, etc.
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Managing Director or other Resort leadership
