We are currently seeking a full-time transient sales manager to join our team at the Westin located at 1 E Pershing Rd, Kansas City, Missouri. This management position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $42.79 to $56.06 and the opportunity to earn bonuses. As a transient sales manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business transient revenue by focusing on specific transient segments such as consortia, wholesale, special corporate accounts, AAA, travel agencies, entertainment, diplomatic, and social leisure groups.

In this role, you will serve as the on-property sales liaison, leveraging your expertise to uncover new business opportunities, develop and maintain strong relationships with transient clients, and achieve revenue goals through proactive solicitation. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing transient sales initiatives to increase productivity, collaborating with area sales and global sales organizations to maximize revenue, and negotiating contracts to secure the best business opportunities aligned with market conditions and property needs.

You will also conduct walkthroughs and site inspections with clients to ensure their requirements and expectations are met, working closely with operational teams such as revenue management, front office, and concierge to deliver seamless service. By adhering to Marriott's brand standards and service strategy, you will play a key role in driving customer satisfaction and loyalty through excellent service delivery throughout the sales process.

This position requires a proactive and creative approach to sales, including the use of various sales tools and systems, such as Hoteligence, EMPOWER, GXP, property management systems, and Marriott's revenue data warehouse. You will analyze market trends, competitor activity, and economic factors to strategically position the hotel and maximize transient revenue.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in sales and marketing, preferably within the hospitality industry, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and sustain productive relationships both internally and externally. This role demands collaboration with various teams and a commitment to upholding Marriott's customer service standards while executing business objectives effectively.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, or front desk
  • or 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management
  • 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Ability to achieve transient revenue goals
  • Strong negotiation and creative selling skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in sales and marketing or related areas
  • or 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management with 2 years experience
  • Preferred 4-year college degree
  • Experience in proactive lead generation in hospitality sales
  • Experience selling leisure, transient, or special corporate business
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties
