Known for its commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences, JW Marriott marries innovative service with a rich legacy tied to its founder, J. Willard Marriott. The brand prides itself on fostering a welcoming and inclusive work environment where associates feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. JW Marriott believes that when associates are happy and fulfilled, it naturally translates into exceptional service for its guests, embodying "The JW Treatment" philosophy that places associate well-being at the forefront of its operations. The hotel embraces diversity, creativity, and forward-thinking, offering an environment where team members can shine and contribute to maintaining the highest luxury hospitality standards.
The role of a Group Sales Manager at JW Marriott Philadelphia is a vital position within the property's sales and marketing division. This full-time management position is designed for a dynamic professional who excels in negotiating and closing group sales business within predefined peak room parameters. Paying between $47.12 and $62.02 per hour, with bonus eligibility, this opportunity offers a competitive compensation package for those who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment. The Group Sales Manager acts as the on-property liaison for group sales, managing incoming inquiries, conducting site inspections, and ensuring proper and timely turnover of group business to operational teams. The primary goal of this role is to meet and exceed group revenue targets by leveraging market knowledge, negotiation skills, and creative selling to maximize each business opportunity.
This position requires strategic coordination with the area sales team, event management, and operations to implement Marriott's brand standards and service strategies, ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial contact through event completion. The Group Sales Manager not only drives revenue through new and existing client relationships but also cultivates strong partnerships within the local community and across off-property sales channels. By actively participating in promotional activities, trade shows, and client entertainment, the manager contributes to sustaining a robust pipeline of group and catering business. Success in this role requires acute attention to market trends, competitor analysis, and the ability to anticipate and respond to client needs effectively. The role includes participation in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning efforts to align with the property's overall strategic goals. Exceptional customer service skills are essential, as the manager ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout the entire sales process and event lifecycle.
At JW Marriott Philadelphia, candidates will find an opportunity to belong to a global team that encourages innovation, personal development, and meaningful career growth within the hospitality industry. The Group Sales Manager will enjoy an environment committed to equal opportunity employment, embracing diverse backgrounds, and promoting a respectful workplace. The role offers a unique platform to be part of a renowned brand known for luxury hospitality, where your contributions directly influence both guest satisfaction and business success. If you are passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and driving sales performance in a prestigious hotel setting, this role invites you to bring your talents and become part of a distinguished hospitality legacy.
