The company culture emphasizes teamwork, inclusiveness, and a commitment to guest satisfaction, all underscored by a set of Guiding Principles that shape the way the team operates daily.
The role of Event Sales Manager at The Moran is integral to the success of the events hosted at the property. This position is responsible for driving catering revenue by selling meetings, social events, and special functions, ensuring a high standard of event execution from initial client engagement through to the final moments of an event. The Event Sales Manager works collaboratively with Food + Beverage, Sales, and Events teams to guarantee superior guest experiences that align with The Moran's reputation for excellence.
The Event Sales Manager will be tasked with generating new business opportunities through client meetings, site tours, proposals, and contract negotiations. A strong emphasis is placed on relationship-building with corporate clients, social event planners, and local partners, ensuring a steady pipeline of catering business. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent events and deadlines.
In addition to sales responsibilities, the Event Sales Manager manages banquet event orders (BEOs) and coordinates with Banquet, Culinary, and Operations teams to align all aspects of event logistics, such as room setup, menu selections, and service requirements. They monitor event details closely to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded, contributing significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall success of each event.
This role calls for a professional, polished demeanor and a guest-focused approach, ensuring all interactions reflect the high standards of The Moran. Candidates should have prior experience in catering sales or hospitality sales, preferably within hotel or venue-based environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management systems is preferred to enhance operational efficiency.
The Moran offers competitive benefits under the Makeready collection, including accommodating paid time off (PTO) with PTO exchange, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, maternity and paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care and 401k plans, a student loan repayment program, and a suite of ancillary benefits. The company places great importance on the health, happiness, and well-being of its team members, fostering an environment of support and inclusivity.
Committed to equal employment opportunity, The Moran is dedicated to fostering a diverse and welcoming workplace where every team member can thrive based on their unique qualifications, experience, and abilities. This approach ensures a collaborative team culture where individuality is respected and professional growth is encouraged. The Event Sales Manager role represents an exciting opportunity for professionals seeking to advance their career in hospitality sales within a supportive and dynamic organization that values excellence in every event they produce.
