Job Description
Smithfield Foods is one of the nation’s leading consumer packaged goods companies, known for its commitment to sustainably feeding people around the world. The company produces high-quality food products while maintaining a strong dedication to ethical practices that respect people, animals, communities, and the environment. With a presence across multiple locations and diverse functions, Smithfield fosters a culture grounded in its Core Four values: gratitude, communication, respect, and accountability. Employees at Smithfield are provided with opportunities for continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring a challenging and rewarding career path where individuals can grow, contribute meaningfully, and make a tangible impact.
The role offered is a Senior Sales Account Manager position, a key part of the expansive Smithfield Sales team. This role is ideal for a driven and motivated sales professional who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and is passionate about building and maintaining strong customer relationships. As a Senior Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing larger, strategic, or high-value accounts to drive long-term growth and expand Smithfield’s footprint in the consumer packaged goods industry. You will introduce and place new products with key customers, execute organizational initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Business Management and Plant Operations to meet product and service delivery objectives.
This full-time role comes with a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $119,750 annually and may include travel up to 75% of the time. The Senior Sales Account Manager will be expected to actively communicate pricing, product availability, and order management details to customers, ensuring an exceptional customer service experience. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior staff and potentially leading small teams to drive a positive employee culture. The role demands a high level of critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills to meet sales targets and contribute to Smithfield’s strategic growth.
As part of Smithfield’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the company provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates. The company also actively supports employees with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations in the employment selection process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a company that not only values its employees but also respects shared community and environmental responsibilities, providing a platform to make a real difference in the industry while advancing your career.
