Chang's operates numerous locations across the United States and internationally, consistently delivering high-quality food, excellent service, and a vibrant atmosphere for guests. The company emphasizes community, family, and the power of food to bring people together, which is reflected in its slogan "To Celebrate Life. Family. Food." This dedication to meaningful work creates a unique environment where employees are encouraged to grow professionally while contributing to a welcoming experience for customers.
The Senior Restaurant Manager role at P.F. Chang's is a dynamic and multifaceted position, ideally suited for a passionate and experienced leader eager to take on a significant front-of-house management responsibility. This full-time salaried position offers a competitive pay range between $61,250 and $81,250 annually, commensurate with experience, positioning it as an attractive opportunity within the hospitality industry. Alongside competitive compensation, the company provides comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, and paid time off. This package is supplemented with monthly and annual performance bonuses, professional development opportunities through paid management training, and a supportive work culture rewarding internal promotion and team referrals.
In this role, the Senior Restaurant Manager is tasked with overseeing all front-of-house operations, ensuring that each aspect of the guest experience aligns with P.F. Chang's high-quality standards and brand values. Reporting directly to the Operating Partner, the Senior Restaurant Manager acts as a pivotal leader, responsible for managing and facilitating the training and development of all Hospitality Team Members. Effective communication is paramount, as the role demands clear articulation to team members, management peers, and guests alike.
Key responsibilities include the creation and management of staff schedules to optimize operational efficiency, conducting daily pre-shift meetings to align team focus and priorities, and upholding rigorous dress code and conduct standards. The manager is accountable for maintaining compliance with all state safety and sanitation guidelines, supporting inventory control efforts, and managing controllable expenses within their scope of oversight. Ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a professional environment for both guests and team members is critical.
The Senior Restaurant Manager also handles guest service issues with professionalism and compassion, embodying and promoting the company’s core message and values throughout every aspect of the role. Physical requirements for the position include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts, the capacity to reach, bend, balance, and lift objects intermittently up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as woks, mixers, slicers, and choppers, as well as safe knife handling, is also necessary to perform some hands-on tasks.
P.F. Chang's values candidates bringing a minimum of three years’ experience in restaurant management, particularly in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license to fulfill occasional responsibilities such as providing shift coverage, meeting liquor license requirements, executing supply runs, delivering catering orders, and attending off-site training and business meetings. Experience mentoring and training hourly team members is essential, along with strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred candidates will have experience working in casual dining or upscale restaurants within a corporate restaurant chain environment. Familiarity with managing inventory, cost of goods, and overall financial control within a restaurant setting is highly advantageous.
Joining P.F. Chang's means more than just securing a job; it means becoming part of a passionate community committed to honoring life, family, and food. Employees benefit from a culture that rewards dedication, supports professional growth, and values meaningful contributions that contribute to the company’s ongoing success and vibrant restaurant experience. This is an excellent opportunity to advance a career in restaurant management with a respected industry leader that places employee well-being and career development at its core.
