This position invites applications for a Senior Registered Dietitian to join the Banner Peoria Health Center team. This role is an essential part of the healthcare delivery system, working collaboratively with medical providers, nursing staff, therapy teams, and culinary services to provide exceptional nutritional care. As a Senior Registered Dietitian, the selected candidate will take on a leadership role specializing in clinical nutrition within the endocrinology clinic. Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive nutritional assessments, developing and managing nutrition care plans tailored to individual patient needs, and providing detailed patient and family counseling and education.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and adherence to clinical standards while managing a complex caseload focusing on specialty areas such as diabetes care, transplant nutrition, pediatric or gerontology nutrition, and more. The Senior Registered Dietitian will also contribute to developing nutrition standards of practice and educational materials, participating actively in interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care. Mentorship of colleagues and new staff in clinical nutrition is a critical aspect of this position, promoting best practices and professional development within the department.

This position offers a supportive and flexible work schedule, allowing options such as four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts during the day. Job Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or equivalent
  • registration as a dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • maintenance of ongoing registration and state licensure
  • three to five years of clinical specialty experience
  • ability to function independently and prioritize case load
  • documentation of certification in specialty area
  • for behavioral health clinical settings, possession of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • signing of Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or equivalent coursework
  • registered dietitian credential as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • minimum of three to five years of clinical experience in a specialty area
  • certification and expertise in one or more recognized specialty areas such as lactation consultant, diabetes care, clinical transplant dietitian, nutrition support clinician, pediatric, renal, oncology, gerontology, sports dietetics, digestive health, pediatric critical care specialists, advanced practitioner, nutrition wound care, or obesity and weight management
  • current licensure as required by state law

Job Duties

  • Provide comprehensive nutritional assessments including nutrition-focused physical exams
  • maintain competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols
  • write orders to initiate and manage nutrition care plans
  • evaluate effectiveness of care plans and communicate with healthcare team
  • provide nutrition education to patients, families, and staff
  • lead and establish patient care procedures and policies
  • participate in continuous quality improvement activities
  • develop training materials and mentor staff
  • interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure high-quality nutrition care
