In this role, you will develop, implement, and evaluate recreational activities and special events, specifically tailored for participants at the Activity Center. The responsibility extends beyond programming, including supervision of city programs, services, and activities, and managing staff and volunteers who deliver these programs. From recruitment and training to scheduling and evaluation, your leadership and organizational skills will ensure program success and participant satisfaction.
Furthermore, you will assist in facility management by supervising rentals and maintaining reservation schedules, ensuring efficient use of community spaces. Communication is a critical component, as you will prepare various official documents such as press releases, reports, flyers, and schedules to promote programs and events effectively. Participating in budget preparation and monitoring will also be part of your duties, requiring fiscal responsibility to optimize resource allocation.
Collaboration is essential in this position; you will work closely with city employees, community organizations, and volunteers to nurture strong partnerships and enhance program reach. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in community services or recreation program support
- Ability to work approximately 30-35 hours per week

Job Duties
- Develops, implements, and evaluates recreational activities, special events and social services programs for participants at the Activity Center
- supervises City programs, services, and activities
- supervises, recruits, evaluates, schedules, and trains staff and volunteers in assigned program areas
- plans, develops, conducts, supervises and manages a wide variety of recreation activities for youth, adults and seniors
- assists with supervising facility rentals and maintaining reservation schedules
- prepares press releases, reports, evaluations, agendas, flyers, brochures, schedules, memorandums, and other written communication
- makes recommendations regarding the acquisition of equipment and supplies
