Job Description
The hiring establishment is a manufacturing company that specializes in precision production across multiple product lines, ensuring high-quality standards in their processes. The company operates in a clean room environment with strict adherence to gowning, cleanliness, and procedural standards, emphasizing the importance of maintaining rigorous quality control to meet or exceed customer expectations. This organization is committed to continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles, and fostering a collaborative team environment to drive productivity and product quality. Employees are expected to follow all company policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
The role being offered is for a Senior Quality Technician, a critical position responsible for planning and executing various inspections throughout the production lifecycle. These inspections include incoming inspections of materials and components, in-process inspections at different manufacturing stages, and final inspections before products are released for shipment. The Senior Quality Technician will also assist with documentation such as First Article Inspection packets and production inspection records, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and procedural standards.
This role requires working closely with all areas of production to maintain efficient throughput, reviewing production records for accuracy and compliance, and leading internal and external audits. The Senior Quality Technician acts as a leader within the team, responsible for utilizing quality resources effectively and delivering accurate, timely results. Leadership duties may involve overseeing functional processes such as receiving inspection, metrology including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), calibration, claims evaluation, internal auditing, 5S/lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal candidates should have a continuous improvement mindset, a proven track record of implementing process enhancements, and a high level of precision and attention to detail. This job frequently involves working indoors in office, laboratory, or manufacturing environments, including the ability to perform tasks in a stationary position for long periods and lift objects up to 40 pounds. The ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface roughness meters, and others is essential for success in this role.
The position requires intermediate computer and math skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Teams, as well as familiarity with technical documents, product specifications, and recordkeeping. Experience using software such as Provia, Syteline, and expertise in ISO Class 5 clean room environments, Vision Systems, CMMs, comparators, borescopes, or sight pipes will be advantageous.
This is a first-shift position with occasional overtime on evenings and weekends as needed. The Senior Quality Technician will be expected to communicate effectively, multitask efficiently, and suggest process improvements while adhering strictly to procedural guidelines and minimal supervision. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking to advance their careers in quality assurance and production within a dynamic manufacturing setting.
