The company is actively seeking a Senior Quality Control Manager to join its Quality department. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 per year and plays a critical part in maintaining and elevating the company’s product standards. The Senior Quality Control Manager will collaborate closely with production operations teams to ensure the consistent delivery of premium quality products. Through leadership and detailed oversight, the manager will foster a culture of quality throughout the organization and ensure that all company outputs meet or exceed customer expectations.

This role involves close collaboration with multiple departments to enforce and adhere to quality control requirements tailored to each project. A significant responsibility includes preparing for third-party audits such as Caltrans inspections, executing both pre- and post-production testing, troubleshooting production challenges, and safeguarding compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The position requires the ability to lead and motivate the quality assurance team, provide essential training, improve internal processes, and continuously suggest operational improvements.

The Senior Quality Control Manager will be responsible for interpreting construction drawings, conducting product inspections, overseeing quality control procedures, and ensuring the proper handling and documentation of non-conforming products. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with engineering, production, and corporate teams to uphold strict quality goals. The job also includes administrative duties like reviewing quality reports, leading quarterly QC meetings, and implementing ongoing training programs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • minimum 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance management
  • proven ability to lead quality teams and manage audits
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • ability to stand, walk and stoop throughout the shift
  • physical ability to perform strenuous labor under various conditions
  • dependability with consistent attendance
  • ability to use equipment and tools safely
  • able to work in outdoor environments with PPE
  • must pass pre-employment physical and drug test
  • eligibility to work in the US without restrictions

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of concrete technology, welding, and nondestructive evaluation/testing (NDE/NDT)
  • possession of ACI certifications
  • understanding of ASTM, ASSHTO, CalTrans, and Local Agency Standards
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent communication and training abilities
  • ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • experience in quality assurance and control within manufacturing
  • familiarity with safety, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements

Job Duties

  • Develop and deliver quality control training programs to key personnel
  • coordinate with managers to implement quality control training programs
  • address questions or concerns from contract personnel regarding drawings or details
  • prepare plant for Caltrans and other facility audits
  • conduct pre- and post-pour testing and troubleshoot issues during mixing and pouring
  • read and interpret construction drawings
  • track sample fabrication
  • work with production daily to improve overall quality
  • provide support to Engineering Department as required
  • lead quality assurance team in performing visual inspections
  • establish and oversee quality control procedures
  • facilitate training sessions for QA team members
  • work closely with production, management, and corporate teams on quality goals
  • review and approve quality reports
  • ensure correct handling of non-conforming products
  • supervise approval process for product packaging and finished goods
  • implement and enforce environment, health, and safety protocols
  • provide feedback to improve processes
  • lead special quality projects
  • ensure compliance with project-specific quality assurance procedures
  • perform other QC duties
  • develop and maintain quality standards
  • hold quarterly QC meetings including Engineering and Production
  • provide training for QA technicians
