Job Description
Leidos is a leading industry and technology innovator that provides comprehensive digital and mission solutions to government and commercial clients worldwide. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Leidos employs approximately 47,000 professionals globally and reported revenues of about $16.7 billion for the fiscal year ended January 3, 2025. The company is renowned for its commitment to advancing technology and delivering cutting-edge solutions across various sectors, including aerospace, defense, healthcare, and intelligence. Leidos fosters a culture that encourages disruptive thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement, propelling the organization to stay ahead in dynamic and challenging environments. The company values integrity, excellence, and a strong commitment to mission success, which are reflected in its recruitment of top-tier talent that are both visionary and results-oriented.
Leidos is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team supporting NASA’s Commercial Low Earth Orbit Destinations (CLD) Program. This pivotal role is based onsite in Webster, Texas, and focuses on leading projects involving the development, integration, and certification of life support and multi-disciplinary spaceflight systems crucial for human spaceflight missions. The Project Manager will oversee projects spanning various technical areas such as Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS), compressed gases, electrical and software systems, and integrated hardware solutions. The position requires collaboration with NASA stakeholders, commercial partners, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the highest levels of safety, reliability, and efficiency in system design and operation for long-duration space missions.
The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management, encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, risk mitigation, and successful closeout. This includes developing and maintaining resource-loaded schedules, generating cost estimates and Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and managing complex integrated hardware and software projects. Additionally, the role involves coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines, interfacing with external customers, conducting design and technical reviews, managing risks and change processes, and ensuring compliance with NASA’s stringent requirements for verification, safety, quality, and configuration management. The candidate will also provide regular status updates on cost, schedule, and technical performance to all stakeholders.
This opportunity offers a competitive salary range between $92,300 and $166,850, aligning with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Leidos emphasizes a benefits package that includes health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement options, underscoring its commitment to supporting its employees. Leidos encourages professionals who are passionate about space exploration and human spaceflight to bring their expertise and leadership to help shape the future of space missions and contribute to groundbreaking programs like NASA’s CLD initiative.
If you thrive in dynamic, matrixed, multidisciplinary engineering environments and possess strong leadership and communication skills, this role provides an exceptional platform to make a significant impact in human spaceflight technology and project management at a globally recognized company dedicated to innovation and excellence.
