We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Project Manager to join our team on a full-time contract basis, working onsite in Hyattsville, MD. The Senior Project Manager will be instrumental in leading complex technology and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) projects primarily for clients within the transit industry. This role requires overseeing large-scale enterprise technology projects from inception through to successful implementation and post-project evaluation. Key responsibilities include guiding cross-functional teams through system selection, integration, data migration, QA/QC testing, training, and rollout phases. The ideal candidate will bring at least seven years of proven experience managing high-impact IT projects, specifically in transit or related sectors, paired with strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities.
The Senior Project Manager will collaborate closely with sponsoring organizations to conduct comprehensive needs assessments, risk analysis, and scope definition. This position demands adept skills in drafting detailed specifications, reviewing proposals, orchestrating work plans, and monitoring deliverables and progress. The candidate will employ industry-standard project management methodologies and tools such as Primavera Scheduler and Microsoft Project to develop and maintain schedules, monitor contractor performance, and provide detailed reporting to stakeholders.
In addition to managing technical aspects like power system engineering and software quality assurance, this role also involves continuous stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment and support. The Senior Project Manager is expected to proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track, manage project risks, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. This role emphasizes maintaining a strategic, long-term outlook on systems and technology under management, making sure that projects meet both immediate goals and future enterprise needs.
The compensation for this role ranges from $60 to $65 per hour, dependent on factors such as location, experience, and education. The benefit package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan access, and eligibility for paid sick leave or other paid time off as mandated by law. This position offers a unique chance to contribute meaningfully to critical infrastructure projects in a fast-paced, supportive, and technologically advanced setting.
