The Senior Project Manager position at Ledcor Technical Services is a significant leadership role that involves overseeing and delivering high-impact telecom infrastructure projects, including fiber optic deployments, wireless infrastructure builds, and large-scale network upgrades. This full-time role based in Chicago, IL, demands a professional with proven leadership capabilities and technical expertise to manage the entire project lifecycle from planning through execution, ensuring projects meet stringent quality, safety, scope, schedule, and budget requirements. The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in driving successful project completion by implementing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ensuring compliance with all relevant telecom construction standards and specifications. Working conditions will involve up to 30% travel across the United States and to Ledcor’s hub in Florence, KY. Job Requirements
- Education in Construction Management Telecommunications Engineering or a related field bachelor’s degree preferred diploma or technical training accepted
- 8+ years of telecom or utility construction project management experience
- Strong understanding of telecom construction methods permitting processes and industry standards e.g. NESC NEC local codes
- Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors
- Experience in contract negotiation cost control and scheduling tools e.g. MS Project Primavera or similar
- Must be able to travel up to 30% across the United States and to our hub in Florence KY
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- 8+ years of telecom or utility construction project management experience with a proven track record of leading large complex infrastructure builds
- Education in Construction Management Telecommunications Engineering or a related field bachelor’s degree preferred diploma or technical training accepted
- Strong understanding of telecom construction methods permitting processes and industry standards e.g. NESC NEC local codes
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams manage subcontractors and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Experience with contract negotiation cost control and scheduling tools e.g. MS Project Primavera or similar is a plus
Job Duties
- Champion and uphold Ledcor’s safety-first culture ensuring all safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded on telecom construction sites
- Lead the planning and execution of large-scale telecommunications projects including fiber deployments small cell installations and wireless tower builds
- Manage risk management permitting and client communications throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead the identification and pursuit of new telecom project opportunities
- Oversee the project scheduling budgeting and resource allocation using industry-standard tools and methodologies
- Lead the implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ensure compliance with telecom construction standards and specifications
- Coordinate with subcontractors suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Negotiate contract execution and change order management
- Help establish and manage project systems including cost tracking reporting and documentation
