The culture at GDMS emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and respect, making it a highly respected and competitive place of employment. Employees benefit from a flexible working environment, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. GDMS caters to defense and security sectors with a focus on developing technologies that are often top-secret and at the cutting edge of research and application.
The position of Program Manager at General Dynamics Mission Systems is a career-defining opportunity to lead and innovate within a world-class organization. This hybrid-role requires a Department of Defense Secret clearance at the time of hire, with eligibility for Top Secret clearance with Polygraph, reflecting the sensitive and critical nature of the work. The Program Manager will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team in the development, definition, and execution of integrated program, product, subcontractor, material, and business plans. The role demands a strategic thinker who can balance technical requirements, program risks, and opportunities while meeting demanding budgets and schedules. Leadership skills are crucial as the Program Manager will helm cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, overseeing the delivery of complex products or computer-based systems from design through release.
This position requires deep technical knowledge, particularly related to build-to-print hardware designs and lower rate production, and strong experience in managing critical customer relationships and complex contracts. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential for reporting issues, impacts, and corrective measures to all stakeholders. The role also requires resilience, creativity, and servant leadership qualities to foster transparency, cooperation, and respect throughout the program lifecycle. The salary range for this position is competitive, estimated between USD 203,851 and USD 220,574 per year depending on experience and location, highlighting the importance and seniority of this role within GDMS. Joining GDMS means becoming part of a highly innovative, respected, and mission-driven company where your contributions help safeguard national security and advance technological frontiers.
