Job Description
Amazon Interactive Video Service (Amazon IVS) is a cutting-edge live streaming service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Built on the same reliable technology platform that powers Twitch, Amazon IVS is a fully managed service trusted by thousands of enterprises worldwide across various high-growth sectors such as gaming, social media, live commerce, sports, and entertainment. This innovative service enables developers to create and deliver interactive and engaging live video experiences for audiences of any size, handling everything from ingesting video feeds to processing and global delivery, all at minimal latency. Amazon IVS is designed to simplify the complexities of live streaming, empowering developers to focus on fostering vibrant communities around their live video content, whether scaling for millions of concurrent viewers or catering to smaller niche audiences.
Amazon IVS's mission is to revolutionize live video interaction by providing an adaptable, scalable, and developer-friendly platform. It combines comprehensive technical depth with user-focused simplicity, offering developers robust APIs and SDKs to build customized streaming applications. This living ecosystem continuously evolves as it incorporates new interactive video capabilities, improving real-time experiences and attendee engagement worldwide.
The Senior Product Manager role at Amazon IVS plays an essential, high-impact role within this dynamic environment. This position involves end-to-end product ownership, blending leadership in product strategy, technical requirements definition, customer engagement, and market launch execution. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with engineering teams to transform innovative ideas into practical, scalable solutions while maintaining a strong customer-centric approach by engaging directly with developers to understand their challenges and needs.
The ideal candidate for this position is a technically proficient professional with extensive experience in video streaming technology and cloud computing. They will have a deep understanding of the ecosystem of video streaming protocols such as HLS and WebRTC, as well as a strong technical background enabling effective communication and collaboration with engineers and developers alike. Leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing the full product lifecycle—from conceptual ideation, through detailed engineering design to market delivery and ongoing enhancement—will be core components of this role.
Additionally, this role requires significant expertise in product management within SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS environments, including developing developer-facing solutions that empower users to create content and facilitate community engagement. Responsibilities include shaping impactful product visions, identifying market opportunities, advocating for customer needs within the organization, and driving successful go-to-market strategies that promote product adoption and growth.
Amazon IVS is committed to fostering an inclusive work culture that embraces diversity and innovation. The company provides competitive compensation packages with base salaries ranging from $152,200 to $236,800 annually, depending on location, and comprehensive benefits such as health care, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. The Senior Product Manager role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of interactive video technology, making a global impact by enabling developers to deliver immersive live video experiences to millions worldwide.
