Job Description
RTX, formerly known as Raytheon Technologies, is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, uniting 185,000 talented professionals driven by a purpose to solve the world’s most complex problems. With a century of experience, pioneering engineering expertise, and a deep commitment to research and development, RTX delivers cutting-edge solutions that help defend nations, protect freedoms, and deter threats around the globe. Its three market-leading businesses span a broad array of aerospace and defense sectors, enabling unparalleled capabilities and innovative opportunities for employees and partners alike. RTX’s culture is built on values like Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation, fostering a work environment where every individual is empowered to contribute to a safer, more connected world.
This job opportunity is for an onsite position located in Tucson, Arizona, at RTX’s facility on 1151 E Hermans Rd. The role demands active U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable DoD Secret security clearance prior to the start date, underscoring the trusted nature of the work. The role, designated as a Sub IPTL (Sub Integrated Product Team Lead) within the Naval Power Product Line, focuses on value stream capacity activities critical to transitioning complex defense systems from development into production. Responsibilities include managing Test equipment integration, factory optimization, supplier capacity growth, test optimization, yield improvement, and the implementation of Manufacturing Verification Testing, all fundamental to supporting and advancing the production lifecycle.
The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across diverse groups including Systems Engineering, Software, Firmware, Test Equipment, and Production Test Engineers. This role involves direct oversight of project lifecycle phases—requirements definition through system integration to final delivery—while managing schedule, budget, resources, and risks. The Sub IPTL plays a pivotal role in technical monitoring, obsolescence management, and driving strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness throughout the value stream.
Applicants should have a minimum of ten years relevant experience supported by a STEM bachelor’s degree, with proven skills in hardware, software, and firmware integration, project leadership, and Earned Value Management System certification. Preferred qualifications include experience with prime hardware design, complex system troubleshooting with advanced test equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, and familiarity with model-based systems engineering and Agile development practices. This position offers a competitive estimated salary range from $132,400 to $251,600 USD, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, parental leave, and more, tailored to the business unit and collective bargaining agreements.
RTX provides a dynamic and inclusive working environment where talented minds collaborate on high-impact aerospace and defense projects, making this role an exceptional opportunity for technical leaders who thrive on solving intricate challenges in a mission-critical setting. Join RTX to shape the future of aerospace and defense while building a rewarding career marked by growth, innovation, and service to the nation.
