The role of Senior Plant Manager is pivotal to the company’s operational success. This position demands excellence in managing safety, quality, production delivery, and cost performance through effective staffing and resource management. This individual will work closely with manufacturing supervisors, human resources, and other key stakeholders to strategize and execute plans that optimize production resource allocation, achieve manufacturing targets, and maintain the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include leadership in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), maintaining quality standards consistent with the Quality Management System, and acting as a vital link between employees and HR to foster positive employee relations. The Senior Plant Manager will develop staffing models and resource plans to anticipate workforce needs and gaps, ensure manufacturing schedules are met, and lead recruitment and onboarding efforts to build a strong, capable workforce.

Promoting talent development, continuous improvement, and performance management through close collaboration with HR and training teams will be essential. This role also champions safety by proactively identifying risks and ensuring compliance with OSHA and federal safety regulations. Budgetary oversight for production supplies, labor costs, and related expenses will be part of the duties to ensure cost-effectiveness and business sustainability.

This full-time, on-site position in Spokane offers a competitive salary range of $113,500 to $181,000 annually, with an additional 10-12% shift differential depending on the work shift. Shift options include nights (Monday-Wednesday, extended Thursday 6 pm-6 am) or days (Friday-Sunday, extended Thursday 6 am-6 pm). Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior supervisory experience in workforce planning and recruitment
  • Experience in manufacturing or production preferred
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with labor laws
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production planning tools

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, business, or related field or 10 years related experience in lieu of degree
  • Prior supervisor experience including workforce planning, recruitment, and employee relations
  • Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-department collaboration
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Work cross-functionally with quality, engineering, and technical services leadership to address immediate manufacturing issues
  • Maintain knowledge of current quality concepts, practices, and processes to enforce standards of the Quality Management System
  • Serve as a point of contact for manufacturing employees regarding employment issues, collaborating with HR for resolution
  • Develop and maintain resource planning models to anticipate staffing and training needs
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are completed on schedule and communicate any barriers to leadership
  • Lead recruitment efforts including advocating candidates, conducting interviews, and monitoring onboarding
  • Collaborate with HR and training to identify employee training needs and promote continuous improvement
  • Monitor and support performance management of manufacturing supervisors
  • Ensure all production and facility areas comply with OSHA and safety standards and proactively identify risks
  • Conduct regular staffing assessments based on production schedules and demand forecasts
  • Monitor and manage budgetary processes related to overtime, incentives, and production supplies
