The role of Sr. Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics is a critical leadership position within the logistics and supply chain segment. The position operates during the night shift hours of 10:00 pm to 8:00 am from Monday through Friday, with flexibility required during peak seasons, holidays, and periods of staff shortages.
In addition to operational oversight, the Sr. Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in workforce management by interviewing hourly associates, monitoring performance metrics, providing counseling and recognition, and participating in disciplinary actions up to written warnings. They are also involved in the hiring process and engagement with customers to address operational needs and service expectations. A significant responsibility includes reviewing truck runs for efficiency based on account locations, volume, costs, and customer requirements, as well as identifying opportunities to optimize private fleet utilization.
This leadership role also encompasses financial oversight to ensure strict adherence to policies related to inventory accuracy, returns, damages, and cost control, while driving productivity targets and minimizing overtime. Job Duties
- Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce
