Job Description
Johnson & Johnson is a global leader in healthcare innovation committed to building a world where complex diseases are prevented, treated, and cured. With decades of expertise in Innovative Medicine and MedTech, Johnson & Johnson strives to deliver breakthroughs that profoundly impact health for humanity. The company operates with a spirit guided by "Our Credo," which emphasizes responsibility to employees and the creation of an inclusive, respectful work environment that values diversity and individual merit. Johnson & Johnson is dedicated to fostering a collaborative culture that supports growth and innovation across its global workforce.
The company is currently seeking a Senior Oncology Sales Specialist to join their pharmaceutical sales team in an overlay, field-based role supporting the Upstate New York District. This territory includes key areas such as Buffalo, Bronx, Albany, White Plains, and New Haven, CT, with a preference for candidates residing in Central New York State for efficient regional support. As part of the Oncology team, which is focused on the elimination of cancer by discovering new treatment pathways and modalities, the Senior Oncology Sales Specialist plays a critical role in executing sales strategies for oncology therapeutic products. The job involves a detailed understanding of clinical efficacy, providing clinical support and information, and achieving set sales quotas.
This role requires strong business analysis skills, active prospecting for new business opportunities within the assigned territory, and the development of strategic account plans. The Specialist will work closely with a District Manager to identify key accounts and healthcare professionals, executing tailored pre- and post-call plans that include clear objectives, probes, and supporting materials. Building sustainable customer relationships, influencing decision-makers, and deploying approved sales and marketing materials are key components of the role.
The position demands a deep and current knowledge of assigned specialty oncology products, their clinical and technical aspects, as well as health economics. Specialists must have a thorough understanding of the healthcare delivery systems within their assigned accounts, including physician hierarchies, pharmacy personnel, and clinical nursing staff. Additionally, the Specialist should maintain awareness of reimbursement policies, sales potential, patient mixes, and managed care dynamics affecting business opportunities.
Johnson & Johnson provides a competitive salary range from $120,000 to $150,000 base pay plus incentives and includes a fleet vehicle. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, and legal insurance, alongside retirement plans and various paid time-off benefits. Employees are supported with ongoing training and development and are encouraged to engage in virtual technology to maintain strong customer relationships. The company is committed to an interview process that is inclusive, fair, and respectful of candidates’ time, providing clear communication throughout the hiring journey. Join Johnson & Johnson to be part of a leading organization where your contributions directly impact innovations that save lives and transform oncology care worldwide.
