Job Description
Boeing is a leading aerospace company and a premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems, and service provider of aftermarket support. Known for its innovation and commitment to quality, Boeing plays a vital role in shaping the future of aviation and technology worldwide. The company fosters a workplace environment that is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive, dedicated to professional growth and development for its team members. Boeing operates across multiple locations in the United States including Seattle, WA; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; Everett, WA; North Charleston, SC; Seal Beach, CA; and Ridley Park, PA, providing a diverse and dynamic environment for its employees. This position is a full-time role with competitive pay ranging from $148,750 to $215,050 annually, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Designer with specialized expertise in F5 load balancing technologies. In this role, the candidate will be instrumental in architecting, deploying, configuring, and maintaining complex F5 BIG-IP appliances to support Boeing’s enterprise network infrastructure. This includes extensive work with modules like Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager/DNS (GTM/DNS). The Senior Network Designer will have a strong understanding of advanced networking protocols, load balancing architectures, and security integration such as SSL/TLS offloading and web application firewalls (WAF/ASM). The role demands hands-on experience managing large-scale, sophisticated F5 infrastructures and the ability to customize traffic flow using F5 iRules while automating tasks using APIs and tools like Ansible and ServiceNow.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, collaborating with IT and security teams to align network architecture with business goals, monitoring system health and performance to ensure high availability, and providing training to junior team members. This role requires an individual who can troubleshoot complex network issues promptly and work in close coordination with cross-functional teams to sustain and enhance the network's robustness and security. Boeing is committed to a drug-free workplace and requires successful completion of conflict of interest assessments and drug testing as part of the employment process. Candidates must also meet U.S. export control compliance requirements and be a U.S. person. This opportunity does not offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance. The position is primarily 1st shift and poised to contribute significantly to Boeing’s mission of making the world a better place through innovation and collaboration.
