The role of MEP Senior Superintendent is a critical leadership position within Suffolk’s Mission Critical Center of Excellence, a specialized group managing billions of dollars in data center and mission-critical construction projects for top-tier technology and telecommunications clients nationally. This team is focused on fast-paced, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP)-intensive projects that require precision, technical expertise, and exceptional project management skills.
The MEP Senior Superintendent oversees and manages all daily MEP job site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while driving efficient, on-schedule progress. This role demands a strategic leader capable of managing project team performance, site conditions, trade partner relations, and ensuring adherence to project scope and deadlines. They serve as the essential link between field personnel and project management, communicating progress, issues, and solutions effectively. They are entrusted with the critical responsibility of developing start-up schedules, maintaining UI safety compliance, directing field operations, facilitating project turnover and closeout, and upholding Suffolk’s high standards of quality and safety on site.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 8 years of related construction experience
- Applicable licenses as required by area
- Ability to manage safety compliance

Job Duties
- Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day MEP job site activities including OSHA safety compliance
- Direct field personnel according to the project plan and Suffolk supervisory principles
- Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager
- Report any problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions
- Establish effective working relationships with clients and Suffolk team members
- Request advice and assistance from the General Superintendent on materials, sequencing, scheduling and personnel
- Develop start-up schedules with the Project Manager and coordinate pre-mobilization activities
- Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules
- Ensure subcontractor participation in safety pre-construction meetings and compliance with safety plans
- Manage site pre-construction including surveys, staging plans, and job site utilization
- Organize and maintain job site documentation for easy access and review
- Manage subcontractor performance in quality and ethical standards
- Attend and chair safety, coordination, schedule review, subcontractor, and owner meetings
- Complete construction office checklists and maintain daily reports and logs
- Manage subcontractor closeout activities, utility transfers, owner training, work lists and punch lists
